Dear Friend,

Do you create? Take out your work, even if it’s from years ago, and feel it. Not just with your hands, but with your heart. Pick up where you’ve left off! Express all you’ve been experiencing and holding in. Do you feel stuck or like there’s something you want to get off your chest. Do you think you aren’t creative? Draw it, paint it, sculpt it, sing it, bake it. You don’t have to show anyone, you just have to start. I know you can do it!

I’ve read that by the time others see a full body of work from an artist/creator that seems focused and/or successful, that artist/creator has been at their craft for, on average, 10 years. I’m now in year ten as a canvas artist and am finally feeling at peace with my authentic voice. An artist never stands still, never runs out of things to say, and is always looking for more precise ways of communication, all while honing technical skills. We destroy or rework more pieces than you’ll ever know. Even though these things are true, there has to be a fundamental satisfaction and confidence with your authentic expression. Whether it’s loved or hated by anyone else, it’s you and you wouldn’t change a thing. I believe the pieces I’ve chosen for this gallery best reflect my being and I’m excited to stand firmly before you in my own space. My art is me, my emotions, my psyche, in living color!
